Who we’ve worked with

Track of the Week

Artist: Dick Flood

Track: “Starlight Starbright”

Dick's career took off when he joined The Country Lads on the Jimmy Dean show. They became a duet and won a contest, leading to performances on the show. The band later toured with the USO. After serving in Korea, Dick and Billy formed The Fourth Ends and played as The Luzon Valley Boys in the Philippines. Dick became acquainted with various artists on the Jimmy Dean show, including June Carter and Johnny Cash.

In 1959, Dick moved to Nashville and networked at Friday Night Frolic, leading to guest appearances at the Grand Ol Opry. He worked with Monument Records and collaborated with Roy Orbison. Dick also wrote songs for Anita Bryant. He performed his own songs and covers, often following popular acts.

Dick's career involved playing for the military worldwide. He was known as the "poor man's Bob Hope" and visited bases and clubs across Europe, the Far East, and the United States. He supported his family by booking live shows and writing songs for other artists.

Throughout his journey, Dick met influential musicians like Floyd Kramer and Jerry Lee Lewis. His songs appeared as B-sides to major records, including "Only The Lonely." George Hamilton IV and Porter Wagoner sang songs written by Dick. Despite the challenges, Dick's dedication to his family and his passion for entertaining drove his success in the music industry.
